A shoutout to the skippers who shaped Catchwise

Skippers, vessel owners and fishing companies have shared their time, data, experience and honest feedback with us. They have invited us onboard, shown us how they plan, explained what matters in real operations, and challenged us when something was not good enough.

Catchwise is built with skippers, not just for skippers. The people using the product at sea are the ones who understand what really matters. Their feedback has helped us build something practical, not theoretical.

It started with Norwegian skippers

Norway has long fishing traditions. For generations, Norwegian skippers have worked in some of the world's toughest waters, combining experience, local knowledge and constant adaptation.

Building Catchwise in Norway gave us direct access to some of the most experienced and forward-thinking people in the fishing industry.

Liegruppen, Strand, Lerøy, Bluewild and Hermes are among the companies and vessels that have played an important role in shaping Catchwise.

This has felt like a real industry effort. The skippers who engaged early did not only help us build a better product for themselves. They helped us build a better product for the whole fleet.

Early voices that shaped the product

Skippers are honest, direct, and know what matters in practice. They say things as they are. That has given Catchwise unique insight into how fishing decisions are actually made.

Hermes has been one of the important contributors from the early days. Åsmund Breivik, Skipper on Hermes, has been an important voice in the development:

Åsmund Breivik

Við reynum alltaf að vera fljót að taka upp tækni sem virkar og gerir okkur betri. Snjallhausarnir hjá Catchwise eru að byggja eitthvað sem við erum fullviss um að verði viðmið í greininni

Skipstjóri á Hermes

Catchwise brings more of that context into one platform.

Per William Lie, Skipper on Libas, describes Catchwise as part of the future of modern fishing:

Per William Lie

Catchwise er framsýnt og nýstárlegt og sýnir hvernig tækni getur skipt sköpum í nútíma sjávarútvegi.

Thank you

To everyone who has tested Catchwise, given feedback, shared data, invited us onboard, challenged us, trusted us early or helped us understand the industry better: thank you. You have helped shape Catchwise into what it is today.
